Rider Safety

Welcome to Rider’s Edge®, the Harley-Davidson Academy of Motorcycling. Whether you're a two-wheeled novice or a seasoned road veteran, we can help you take the ride of your life.

Rider’s Edge® New Rider Course:

To take a New Rider’s Course, you’ll need:

- A valid automobile driver’s license or learner’s permit
- To be able to ride a bicycle

You will receive your Motorcycle Safety Foundation RiderCourseSM completion card after passing a multiple-choice written knowledge test and a riding skills evaluation.

In the State of Florida, this card exempts you from having to take the written and/or riding portion of your motorcycle license test.  Depending on your insurance provider, the completion card can also qualify you for a substantial discount - usually 10 to 15% - on motorcycle coverage. Check with your insurance company for details.

Rider’s Edge® Skilled Rider Course:

Combining the time-tested curriculum of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation with the passion of Harley-Davidson, the Rider's Edge Skilled Rider Course is designed for riders who want a challenge.  The Skilled Rider Course will put you and your motorcycle to the test and teach you the latest in safe riding techniques and evasive maneuvers.

The Skilled Rider Course is a six to seven hour course held entirely on the range over one day. The Course uses the proven curriculum of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation® (MSF) Experienced RiderCourseSM Suite, with some enhancements developed by Harley-Davidson enthusiasts. Participants use their own motorcycles, or rentals, to enhance their skills.

Class Schedule

Harley-Davidson Riders Edge® New Rider Course schedule is available by contacting Barbie Braden via email, or you can sign up at either shop - more details available from Dino at the Pineda shop.
